May: Mario Monsters Replaces the Mario Monster Compendium
A custom-built, database-driven PHP version of my old Mario
site: the purpose was to make it easier to accept content
from volunteers. No more translating Word documents into
html!

August: CIA Webmail
Based on the Horde/Imp infrastructure, I customized
the interface of this webmail site to suit our needs
using only the templates and themes files. This
should allow us to apply updates from the Open
Source code base easily.

|
November: CIA.com
I worked on html and Javascript for this site, as
well as some Java components. Most recently, we
retrofitted it for sales to the United States.

|
|
September: 3web/CIA Gateway
I built this site on my own using Java and JSP. It's
due to be refreshed using our new CIA brand.

|
September: My Account Site
This is the first new project that I had a big hand in at
my current workplace: an account management system for
3web customers. I implemented the design in stylesheets
and html and I also worked on some of the Java functionality.

September: The Canadian Gas Potential Committee Site is Revisited
The Canadian Gas Potential Committee wanted the site
redesigned to attract new visitors. I was allowed to
experiment with CSS positioning on this version.
February: David makes a Mockup Database Site
This site is not actually available online, but you can see a larger version of the design.
This was my first experiment with database-driven sites
and it was very promising.

May: The Monkey Grove Becomes the New Home of David's Art.
I wanted to get serious about my illustrations, and I decided that I needed to move my art portfolio to the new, advertisement-free domain name in order to do so. I
came up with a new design while I was at it!

|
July-August: David builds a site for The Canadian Gas Potential Committee.
I designed a website for this non-profit organization that specializes in measuring possible natural gas reserves in Canada. I continue to maintain the site on an
occasional basis.
May: The World of Dave Unites David's Sites and Interests.
This is the very site you are visiting, which was redesigned and launched in May of 2001. It was originally called The Hub, but has since been upgraded to it's very own
domain name, with a new title and new content as well.
January-April: WinterSoft Builds a Software Application
A software engineering class in the same semester had me in a team of 12 people building a piece of software that was supposed to allow students to schedule classes. I
was the webmaster for the project, commanding a collection of gigantic html documents.

|
No new projects this year.

|
May: The Super Mario Bros Monster Compendium
A fan site dedicated to Nintendo's Super Mario games was my
second "big" project. It is still alive and well today.
In fact it attracted some volunteers and has been overhauled
into a PHP/MySQL site (see 2007).

July: David Joins the TelevisionCity Community Leaders
I did not design the above web site, but I have contributed to it. It is part of an on-line volunteer group which was once sponsored by Geocities. When Yahoo! bought
Geocities, they stopped supporting the Community Leaders and the site was eventually forced to shut down, but I had a lot of fun while I was working here. I was my class
valedictorian, as evidenced by my lovely diplomas.

|
July: SuperVillain Central Invades the Web
My first "successful" project, this is a personal page dedicated to villains from cartoon shows. The site is still in the works today, although it has not been updated
in some time.

Summer: The Plok Page is Born!
The site which I used to learn html, this little project was a fan site for a video game called Plok. The site only lasted for a few months.
